(03) RIBS AND TOMATOES
"Ribs and Tomatoes" is a book that explores the relationship between food and gender through articles, interviews, recipes, and documentary photography.
The first chapter delves into female eating habits, addressing issues like the obsession with weight, calorie counting, and the cultural link between salad and femininity. The second chapter examines male eating patterns, exploring the connection between men and meat, and the symbolic parallels drawn between meat and women. The third chapter contrasts the home kitchen—often seen as feminine—with the professional kitchen, traditionally viewed as masculine. The final chapter presents an experiment where men and women share a meal, sparking an open conversation about food and gender.
